
Melissa (Missy) is a sixth-year graduate student in the social and personality psychology program at UCR. She received her BA in psychology from Vanguard University and MA in psychology from UCR. As an undergraduate, Missy worked as a research assistant at UC Irvine in the Loftus Lab and the Emotion Research Lab. As a graduate student at UCR, Missy has examined fluctuations in expectations while awaiting uncertain news. She is also interested in uncertainty in chronic illness experiences and disparities in healthcare. When she's not working, you'll find Missy hanging out with friends and family and watching TV shows with her pug, Otis.
As of February 2023, Missy is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Norco College and on temporary leave from her doctoral studies.
