Sarah Knapp is a seventh-year graduate student in the social and personality psychology program at UCR. Sarah earned her BA in psychology from National University and her MA in psychology from Pepperdine University. Sarah’s research interests center around investigating the bidirectionality of motivational and emotional processes, and the behavioral action tendencies associated with specific emotions, especially serenity. Sarah also researches why people approach mixed affective experiences (such as watching true crime) as is newly incorporating measures of physiological reactivity into her work (RSA, PEP). In her spare time, Sarah enjoys true crime podcasts and documentaries and playing with her dogs.

Sarah is co-advised by Dr. Kate Sweeny and Dr. Elizabeth Davis.
