Research Assistant Positions
We review new applications twice a year: once in early November for positions starting in January, and once in mid-April for positions starting in summer or fall. Applicants for the lab must be psychology or psychology and law majors who have completed coursework through PSYC 12. Primary selection criteria for this team are GPA, performance in psychology courses, and an in-person interview with a graduate student. Research assistants in our lab:
  • Run studies with introductory psychology students in our lab in the psychology building.
  • Run studies off-campus at clinics and hospitals (as needed).
  • Attend weekly meetings with Dr. Sweeny and her graduate students to discuss lab issues, research, and graduate school and career options.
  • Pilot test procedures and measures.
  • Help us brainstorm new studies or changes to ongoing studies.
If you’re interested in applying to our lab, click on the button below. It will take you to a Google Form that will be submitted directly to Dr. Sweeny. NOTE: We only download applications twice a year, so email Dr. Sweeny if you have more immediate questions or concerns.
